PRINTING &
ASSEMBLY -- Cards & EnvelopesWhen you are
finished designing your project, go to the Tool
Bar or the File Menu and select
Print.
Printing
and Folding Envelopes
Caution:
This program allows you to make fully coordinating
envelopes on 8 1/2" by 11" sheets of paper. You
should not try to use #10 envelopes or any other size
envelopes in this program.
Both greeting card envelopes and letter envelopes print
out with the corners grayed out and a small symbol
illustrating a pair of scissors in the corners.
1. Cut out the gray areas by cutting along the lines.
2. Fold the inside flaps in toward the center of the
envelope. These two small flaps will hold the large
outside flaps together.
3. Run a glue stick along the inside flaps.
4. Fold the large outside flap up and attach it to the
inside flaps. Now you've got a complete envelope. Just
stuff it with your document, make the final fold with the
upper flap, and seal the envelope with a gluestick.
You're ready to mail!
Printing and Folding Greeting Cards
1. Fold the piece of paper in half so that the inside of
the card is facing you.
2. Fold in half again so the outside is facing you. Open
it up, and you've got a greeting card! (Hint:
Try gluing the insides of the card together for a more
traditional look!)
Printing
and Cutting Pop-Up Cards
Each pop-up card has an optional black and white version
that details its cutting and folding directions. At the
bottom of the print dialog box, you will be given the
option of printing this version first. If this is your
first time cutting your design, you should choose this
option. This will give you a practice sheet that you can
cut and fold prior to creating the color version. Before
printing, make sure that the printer is set to print in
landscape mode.
Be careful not to place stamps on top of the main image
of the inside spread in a pop-up card. When you cut and
fold your pop-up, the added stamp graphic may be on one
of the fold areas and thereby detract from the 3-D
effect.
After you have printed the black and white version,
simply follow the cutting instructions printed on the
document. Save these instructions so that you may use
them for your color printout. The instructions for
cutting will not be on your color printout.
Hint: Solid lines should be
"Cut-out," and dashed lines should be
"Folded backward."
